PRESENTATION: Guest speaker -Carmel Fisher speaking on the Fisher Funds Investment Philosophy
Fisher Funds has had a remarkable performance over the decade and Carmel Fisher will be talking about how this was achieved.
Carmel started off as a sharebroker in 1984 (surviving the crash of 87), started a new fund specialising in small company shares
for Prudential Assurance in 1991 (83% return for 1992), and formed Fisher Funds Management in 1997.
The Fisher Funds NZ Growth Fund launched on 10 August 1998 has achieved an average compound return of 18% per annum. The Australian Growth Fund has returned 30% p.a. since June 2005. Now Fisher Funds manages $1.3 billion for 20,000 clients.
Most of this performance has been achieved without technical analysis so this talk will be of interest to STANZ members because the philosophy can be applied in addition to any technical analysis members may be using (for example you can trade the listed Fisher funds).
Coffee and biscuits follow the meeting where it is an opportunity to talk to other members. The committee looks forward to seeing you and remember visitors are always welcome.
