Diplomas and Degrees

Australia has a highly recommended Diploma Course. This may be done with lectures within Australia but there is also allowance for a Distance Course.

Britain has some more complex courses with degree examinations and we understand that Universities in USA, Europe and Sweden also provide for a degree in Technical Analysis.

Trading Systems

Technical Analysts almost always develop a system that suits the way they individually trade. There are, however, systems which may be purchased locally and overseas which claim to free analysts from time consuming work at the Computer. We recommend caution here and suggest members work with Technical Analysis and gain familiarity with the Indicators in their Software first. (see http://www.ataa.com.au/ for more information)

Websites

The Australian Technical Analysts Association (www.ataa.com.au)
A list of Australian meetings and Seminars will be found there with a wealth of information. Australia has very large number of Technical Analysts.

Colin Nicholson (www.bwts.com.au)
A good source of information including dates of NZ seminars. Colin Nicholson is held in high regard as a practical trader and lecturer in New Zealand, Australia, United States and Europe and we are able to refer to him from New Zealand experience.

Books

There are a number of great books available on the subject of Technical Analysis, too many to list. The absolute Bible of Technical Analysis is a book by John J Murphy, “Technical Analysis of the Futures Markets” ,which should be included in any library on this subject. I believe every application of charting is included there. Also clearly set out are some of the precepts of Gann, Elliott Wave and Fibonacci Retracements and Targets. The title is a misnomer as the text applies to any tradeable product.

Seminars

Seminars are held or supported each year with local and international speakers. Some of these speakers are renowned worldwide and are held in high esteem internationally. Our seminars have gone a long way to achieving our educational objectives and make a broader market view available.
